Using Ginger to Decrease Cholesterol


Alternative Medicine – High cholesterol or hypercholesterolemia is a condition where the cholesterol level exceed the normal level. Cholesterol itself is a waxy fatty compound which is mostly produced in the liver and the others are produced from the food. The hypercholesterolemia can increase the risk of getting serious disease. The diseases that are suffered by the hypercholesterolemia sufferer is usually associated with excessive deposition of cholesterol in the blood vessels, such as stroke and heart attack.
Hypercholesterolemia can occur because of the consumption of food which contains high cholesterol or lack of sport activities. But it also can happen because of genetic factor.

Actually cholesterol is needed by the body to help build the new cells so that the body can stay normal. Besides that, cholesterol also help the body to produce vitamin D, some hormones and bile acid to digest the fat.

The effects of high cholesterol:

When the excessive cholesterol settles on the artery wall, so that the blood circulation in the heart, brain, and other parts of the body can be blocked. In other words, high cholesterol can increase the risk of someone get narrowing of the arteries or atherosclerosis, blood clots in certain parts of the body, mild stroke  and heart attack.

Besides that, the risk of the sufferers also increases if they suffer hypertension, diabetes or has family

that suffer from heat attack or stroke. High cholesterol can be also caused by the genetic condition (ancestry) which is called as familial hypercholesterolemia (FH). The cholesterol level of the sufferers stay high, although they consume healthy food.   

How to prevent or decrease cholesterol level:

Healthy lifestyle is very needed to heal high cholesterol. Consuming healthy and nutritionally balanced food is one of some methods to decrease the cholesterol level. The fat, contain in the food must be low. Try to change your diet, change the food which contain saturated fat with fruits and vegetables and also grain (wheat bread). So that, the cholesterol in the body will stay normal. Besides healthy diet, begin to o sport regularly and loss the weight if they have obesity problem. And avoid smoking. 
We can do those methods or we can consume ginger to decrease the high cholesterol level. Some researches show that consuming ginger regularly can effectively decrease the absorbing of cholesterol in the blood and liver. Prof. Roufogalis, a pharmaceutical chemist from University of Sydney, Australia said that the gingerol substance in ginger has a good effect that can be anti-coagulant which can prevent the blood clots.  The substance in ginger also can stimulate the releasing of adrenaline hormone which finally can improve the blood circulation.
